It is a processed product of Dipterocarp resin. It is a translucent block, flake or granular crystal with a diameter of 1 to 7 mm and a thickness of about 1 mm. Chemical composition: This product is a crystal obtained from the resin and volatile oil of Dipterocarpaceae. It is almost pure D-borneol. Clinical application:
①Treatment of chronic bronchitis

Take 3 grams of borneol (some use 7.5 grams) and grind it finely, mix it with the same amount of Vaseline, apply it on oiled paper, and paste it on Tanzhong acupoint. Fix with a bandage, and continue to apply heat, and change the dressing every 12 hours. 10 days is a course of treatment. According to the observation of 201 cases, the short-term curative effect is as follows: clinically cured 15 cases (7.4%), markedly effective 76 cases (37.8%), improved 94 cases (46.8%), and failed in 16 cases (8%). In addition, the short-term effective rate of 75 patients over 50 years old was 90.6%, and the effective rate of 1 year follow-up after stopping the drug was 58.66% (12 cases were cured, 16 cases were markedly effective, and 12 cases improved). ⑤Treat chronic rhinitis

Dissolve borneol in hot liquid paraffin to prepare a 2% transparent liquid. Instill the nose 3 to 4 times a day, 1 to 2 drops each time. According to the observation of more than 10 cases, it is effective for chronic simple rhinitis, it is also effective for chronic hypertrophic rhinitis, and it can improve the symptoms of atrophic rhinitis. ⑥Treatment of suppurative otitis media

Take 1 gram of borneol and grind it into fine powder, put it into 16 ml of walnut sleeve (wrap the walnut kernel with gauze under pressure and squeeze the oil to clarify), stirring continuously to dissolve it.
