Cultivation:
1. Biological characteristics Cypress is a sub-therm plant and likes warm and humid climate. The annual average temperature is 13-19℃, the average temperature in January is 3-8℃, the average temperature in July is 20-30℃, and the area with annual rainfall above 1000mm is suitable for growth. The soil requirements are not strict and can tolerate barren drought. It is slightly resistant to water and humidity, and can grow in neutral, slightly acidic, and calcareous soil.

2. Cultivation technology Propagation with seeds. After the seeds are harvested, they can be sown in autumn, winter, spring, and three seasons, but autumn is better. Drilling, row spacing 20-25cm, sowing width 5cm, sowing 90-120kg per 1hm, cover the soil to the degree of invisible seeds, cover grass after sowing, seedlings unearthed about 1 month, remove the cover grass. Before and after Lidong, when the seedlings show more than three rounds of true leaves, plant ash can be topdressed to keep warm and resist cold. From April to August of the following year, topdressing fertilizers such as human excrement and ammonium sulfate will promote the growth of seedlings. The seedlings can be transplanted for three years after sowing, and transplanted from the beginning of spring to the equinox. Dig holes with a diameter of 50cm and a depth of 40cm, and transplant 3000-3600 seedlings per 1hm.

3. Field management: Weeding and loosening the soil should be done twice during the rainy season of the transplanting year and the following year, and once a year thereafter. Pruning should not be too early, generally only the lower dry branches should be pruned.

4. Disease and pest control For red blight, spray Baume 0.5-1.0 degree lime sulphur mixture in the early stage of onset combined with seedling management. Pests are mainly cypress caterpillars, which can be used to catch the larvae in the early spring by hitting the tree and shaking. Use lights to trap and kill adult insects. Cut off branches with cocoons and eggs and burn them. It can also be sprayed with 90% trichlorfon or 50% trichlorfon 1500 times liquid to kill the larvae.

Character identification: The mature and dry cones are spherical, 8-12mm in diameter, dark brown; 4 pairs of seed scales, irregular pentagonal or square at the top, and 5-6 seeds of fertile scales.
