Cultivation Biological characteristics Likes a cool and humid climate. Under the conditions of abundant rainfall, cloudy fog, and high soil and air humidity, the plants grow robustly. Such as direct sunlight, plant growth is slow, growth and development are affected. It should be cultivated in fertile sandy soil with a lot of humus.
Cultivation techniques Propagation by seeds and cuttings. Seed propagation: harvest when the fruit is ripe in summer, rub off the peel, and dry in the shade. It is advisable to follow the harvest and sow, and choose a humid environment with a certain shade to raise seedlings. Sow on the seedbed, cover the seeds with a fine cover, cover the grass, water and moisturize. When the seedlings are as high as 30cm, holes are opened according to the row spacing of 200cm×200cm, and one plant is planted in each hole. Propagation by cuttings: in warm spring, choose biennial branches, cut them to a length of 15-20cm, and insert them into the soil obliquely.
Field management: Flat rattan seedlings grow slowly. It is necessary to top up decomposed human manure and urine once a month, cultivating and weeding 3-4 times a year, and topping up compost or manure once in early spring and after autumn. Take care to keep the soil moist and shaded.
Pest control damping off is easy to occur when the seedlings have 1-2 true leaves. In the rainy season, pay attention to ditch drainage, remove diseased plants, sprinkle quicklime on the diseased holes for disinfection, and sprinkle a layer of dry grass ash on the surface of the seedbed.
