The original crystal structure belongs to the triclinic system or the monoclinic system. Single crystals are flake-shaped, rare, and extremely small. Under an electron microscope, the flake-shaped crystals can be seen in the shape of hexagons, triangles or triangles with cut corners. The aggregates are loose, scaly, earthy or dense, with stalactites occasionally. Character identification: This product is irregular block. Powder white or almost white, some with light red or very light yellow markings or stripes; fine white stripes. Strong water absorption, sticky tongue when licked, no grit feeling when chewing; with earthy smell and slight taste. The ones with white color, delicate and strong water absorption are better.

Microscopic identification Under transmission polarizer: colorless in thin slices with low positive protrusions. The interference color is grade I gray-white. Under the scanning electron microscope, they are stacked pseudo-hexagonal flakes; under the transmission electron microscope, they are pseudo-hexagonal flakes with uniform thickness and clear outline.

Chemical composition: The main component is hydrated aluminum silicate, of which silicon dioxide (SiO2) 46.5%, aluminum oxide (Al2O3) 39.5%, water (H2O) 14.0%; it also often contains strontium, barium, manganese, titanium, Elements such as zinc, lead, copper, and lithium.

Identification Take about 1g of powder of this product, place it in a porcelain evaporating dish, add 10ml of water and 5ml of sulfuric acid, heat until white smoke is produced, cool, slowly add 20ml of water, boil for 2-3min, filter, the filter residue is gray.
